The Perplexity fellowship community is intended for networking and collaboration.
We value the participation of each member and want all users to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Accordingly, all users are expected to show respect and courtesy to others in all events, communications, and activities that take place on the Perplexity Platform.
To make clear what is expected, all platform users, speakers, sponsors, organizers, and volunteers are required to conform to the following Code of Conduct. The community organizers and administrators will enforce this code.
Perplexity is dedicated to providing a positive and harassment-free user experience for everyone, regardless of age, gender, gender identity, and expression, sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, body size, ethnicity, race, religion, nationality, or level of experience. We do not tolerate harassment of users in any form, nor do we tolerate any behavior that would reasonably lead to another user being made to feel unsafe, insecure, or frightened for their physical or emotional well-being. All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience including people of many different backgrounds.
Treat community members with respect. Do not engage in harassment, hateful or malicious behavior. Maintain a positive and constructive environment.
Keep the content appropriate. Inappropriate content, such as NSFW messages or media, is not allowed. Inappropriate profile pics/names will not be tolerated and will result in a ban.
No spamming. Use the channels appropriately and avoid excessive messaging. All-caps messages, repeatedly posting in a short time or making very similar posts are considered spam.
Respect Privacy. Keep personal and sensitive information private. Please do not share or post any information about others without their consent.
No advertising. Do not DM any members promoting your products, services, or projects. You can talk about a project you're working on in industry or function channels, but please no other ads and keep it consistent with the no-spamming rule.
Avoid political discussions and content. Kindly refrain from discussing political matters in order to maintain a peaceful and respectful environment for all community members.
Keep discussions relevant. Keep discussions productive and on topic, and be mindful of what other users in a channel might find helpful when posting. You can share your useful content and findings in the sharing channel.
Do not publicly repost content from others without their permission. Do not use any content or links from this platform without obtaining permission from the original creator.
Other examples of encouraged behavior that contributes to a positive environment include:
Using welcoming and inclusive language
Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
Focusing on what is best for every user
Showing empathy towards other users
Unacceptable behavior includes:
The use of sexualized language or imagery, or inappropriate physical contact, sexual attention, or advances
Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, personal or political attacks, or sustained
disruption of events, discussions, or other activities
Deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, or harassing photography or recording
Harassment of any kind, even in a joking or ironic manner
Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down other users. Behave professionally. Remember that harassment and sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes are not appropriate in this community. Each user is entirely responsible for their own actions.
Prohibited Content
Perplexity does not tolerate content on the platform including all text, videos, still images, and other data that is illegal, obscene, or otherwise offensive or disgusting by accepted standards of morality and decency. Such content is considered “Prohibited Content”. Uploading, disseminating, or otherwise sharing Prohibited Content shall result in removal from the community.
Reporting an incident
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact us via fellowship-events@perplexity.ai and we will take action.
